We are your source for non-vaccinated chicks in the Black Hills of South Dakota! We work with a small hatchery in North Dakota to bring in chicks that are not vaccinated (unlike most big-box stores such as Runnings and Bomgaars).
We work with a regional hatchery who ships chicks to us via SpeeDee Delivery, not the postal service, our chicks arrive at our store around 1-3 days after hatching. Many of our customers have told us that the chicks they bought from us are the most vigorous they’ve ever raised!
How to Get Your Unvaccinated Chicks
If you’re looking for unvaccinated chicks in western South Dakota, you’ll need to place an order on our website for the chicks you want. Our chicks are available by order only; we do not have any walk-in sales of chicks.
We do not ship chicks so if you’re not able to drive to pick up your chicks at our retail store in Hot Springs, South Dakota, you’ll need to find another farm store in your own area.
What Breeds Are Available as Unvaccinated Chicks?
Our hatchery specializes in high-production layers, so we have a variety of layer options from the classic White Leghorn and Easter Eggers to Novogen Blacktails, Blue Layers, and more. Hop on over to our chick orders page to see the variety of unvaccinated layers.
We guarantee our layers to be female – if you receive a rooster, we’ll give you back the amount you paid in store credit!
We also bring in meat birds, from the popular Cornish Cross to improved varieties such as the Dakota Whites: A hardier bird that takes a couple of weeks longer to grow to harvest weight than the Cornish Cross but requires less feed and is a much more vigorous bird. We even have the Dakota Red meat bird chicks, which is similar to a Freedom Ranger.
